Reading the two badges

Each concept carries two annotations that answer different questions, and BSDO keeps them apart on purpose. Derivation says where the concept came from: a formal concept of the lattice, a composition, a reuse, or structural scaffolding. Reuse status says how it stands to external vocabularies. A class can be both derived from a formal concept and aligned to an outside term — the lithium-ion battery class is exactly that — so a single combined value would have to drop one of the two.
